Hi, and thanks for visiting.  My name is Stephen Kawamae, (pronounced Steven) and (cowmy, my nickname).  I've lived here in Hawai`i all of my life.

I work full time for Hawaiian Telcom as a Customer Service Specialist.  My primary function is installing and maintaining Cisco Computer Networks that some of our customers who have purchased from us.  Yes, Hawaiian Telcom sells Cisco equpment.  I support data, voice and wireless networks.  I've been doing this since April of 2001.  I am currently CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and CAWLANFE (Cisco Advanced Wireless LAN Field Engineer) certified.  Two certifications I am very proud of.  Actually for about 1 year from April of 2001 until 2002, I was assisting in installation of PBX systems (running cables, power and various grunt work type activitiy).  Prior to that I worked in Fleet Operations.  I started with GTE Hawaiian  Tel Fleet Operations in 1989.  I left the garage in 2001 as a Master Auto Technician.  I currently hold a Class A, Commercial Driver's License. While in Fleet Operations, I was ASE Certified Master Auto Tech, Master Heavy Truck, Master School Bus and Truck Equipment Certified.  Another proud accomplishment was obtaining the Advance Engine Performance Certification.  Oh yeah, there were two 6 month stints that I was RIF'd from the garage and I worked in the Customer Contact Center for GTE Hawaiian Tel, in the billing department.

I work part time, on the weekends, at the Koko Head Shooting Complex as a Range Attendant.  We, the Range Attendants, function as the Range Safety Officers.  There's no RSO in the job descriptions for the City so we are called Range Attendants.  I currenly hold NRA Training Certifications in Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Home Defense and Range Safety Officer.  Every two months or so, I volunteer to run the Trap Range at the Koko Head Shooting Complex.

I am also, in my spare time, an Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America Troop 664 in Mililani.  Our troop has been steadily growing over the past few years and we now have a little over 30 scouts.  We do at least one camp or hike evey month.

My hobbies are cooking, leather working, doing magic, lomi lomi and shiatsu massage, making and managing web sites, and now making wood pens.
